Villa Park Spartans (Villa Park, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Esperanza Aztecs (Anaheim, CA), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 21-4 record. They take the field next when they host Foothill for a Crestview challenge on Monday, April 25. Villa Park will battle a Knights squad coming off a 4-2 league loss to Canyon (Anaheim, CA). The Knights record now stands at 10-13.

With the loss, Esperanza falls to 16-10 on the campaign. The Aztecs host Canyon (Anaheim, CA) to battle the Comanches in a Crestview challenge on Monday, April 25. The Comanches enter the challenge with a record of 22-4. Canyon won 4-2 in their recent league challenge against Foothill (Santa Ana, CA)
