Franklin County Flyers (Frankfort, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host George Rogers Clark Cardinals (Winchester, KY), 12-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Flyers now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they host South Oldham for a non-league challenge on Friday, April 22. Franklin County will battle a Dragons squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Western Hills (Frankfort, KY). The Dragons record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, George Rogers Clark falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Powell County (Stanton, KY) to battle the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Friday, April 22. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 3-8. Powell County won 17-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Menifee County (Frenchburg, KY)
