In Thursday's non-league contest, the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) softball team held off the visiting Magna Vista Warriors (Ridgeway, VA), by a margin of 7-6.

With the triumph, Staunton River moves its record to 12-0 on the year. The Golden Eagles travel to Fleming (Roanoke, VA) to play the Colonels in a Blue Ridge contest on Friday, April 22. The Colonels come into the contest with a record of 1-6. Fleming lost 19-0 in their recent league contest against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA)

Next, the Warriors meet the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a non-league match, on Monday, April 25. Magna Vista will attempt to advance on its 5-9 season record. The Buffaloes go into the match with a 2-7 record after their 10-1 league loss to Glenvar (Salem, VA).
