Snake River Panthers (Blackfoot, ID) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Malad Dragons (Malad, ID), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now sport a 8-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marsh Valley for a 3A South East Idaho challenge on Friday, April 22. Snake River will face a Eagles squad coming off a 16-1 league win over American Falls (American Falls, ID). The Eagles record now stands at 11-5.

With the loss, Malad falls to 14-1 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to West Side (Dayton, ID) to face the Pirates in a 2A South East Idaho challenge on Wednesday, April 27. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 15-2. West Side won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Bear Lake (Montpelier, ID)
