Piedmont Panthers (Monroe, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC), 5-4 in a league test.

With the win, Piedmont upgrades its record to 10-11 on the season. The Panthers travel to Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC) to battle the Cavaliers in a Southern Carolina 4A test on Monday, April 24. The Cavaliers come into the test with a record of 11-10. Cuthbertson lost 3-2 in their recent league test against Sun Valley (Monroe, NC)

With the defeat, Marvin Ridge falls to 10-11 on the season. The Mavericks travel to Weddington (Matthews, NC) to battle the Warriors in a Southern Carolina 4A test on Tuesday, April 25. The Warriors come into the test with a record of 16-5. Weddington won 10-5 in their recent league test against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)
