The South Caldwell Spartans got by the host Alexander Central Cougars baseball team by a count of 2-1 in Friday's league bout.
The Spartans now possess a 12-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ashe County for a bout on Tuesday, April 25.
Next, the Cougars face the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, April 25. Alexander Central will attempt to move on its 13-5 season record. The Panthers enter the bout with a 6-9 record after their 16-6 non-league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC).
