La Costa Canyon Mavericks (Carlsbad, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mt. Carmel Sundevils (San Diego, CA), 10-8 in a league challenge.

The Mavericks now sport a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they host San Pasqual for a challenge on Friday, May 5.

With the loss, Mt. Carmel falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Sundevils host Poway (Poway, CA) to face the Titans in a challenge on Monday, April 24. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Poway won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against San Pasqual (Escondido, CA)
