Carson Cougars (China Grove, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting East Rowan Mustangs (Salisbury, NC), 5-3 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 13-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Rowan for a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Monday, April 24. Carson will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 14-4 league win over Lake Norman Charter (Huntersville, NC). The Raiders record now stands at 12-7.

With the loss, East Rowan falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs host South Rowan (China Grove, NC) to battle the Raiders in a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Raiders enter the challenge with a record of 12-7.
