Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Center Roughriders (Center, TX), 17-1 in a league challenge.

The Buckeyes now sport a 20-9 record. They take the field next when they host Spring Hill for a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Gilmer will face a Panthers squad coming off a 19-9 league win over Henderson (Henderson, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 25-8.

With the loss, Center falls to 2-13 on the campaign.
