Maxwell Panthers (Maxwell, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host CORE Butte Lynx (Chico, CA), 7-0 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host Biggs for a Mid-Valley challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Maxwell will battle a Wolverines squad coming off a 17-1 non-league win over Chester (Chester, CA). The Wolverines record now stands at 13-6.

With the loss, CORE Butte falls to 0-4 on the campaign.
