Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rogers Vikings (Newport, RI), 11-5 in a league challenge.

The Thunderbolts now own a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Exeter-West Greenwich for a Division 3 challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Cranston East will battle a Scarlet Knights squad coming off a 15-8 league win over Central (Providence, RI). The Scarlet Knights record now stands at 3-3.

With the loss, Rogers falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Classical (Providence, RI) to battle the Purples in a Division 3 challenge on Monday, April 24. The Purples enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Classical lost 24-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Shea (Pawtucket, RI)
