Fredonia Hillbillies (Fredonia, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Dunkirk Marauders (Dunkirk, NY), 17-12 in a league challenge.

The Hillbillies now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they host Allegany-Limestone for a Section 6 Chautauqua/Cattaraugus I challenge on Saturday, April 22. Fredonia will battle a Gators squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Southwestern (Jamestown, NY). The Gators record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Dunkirk falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Marauders travel to Falconer (Falconer, NY) to battle the Golden Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. The Golden Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Falconer lost 11-2 in their recent league challenge against Fredonia (Fredonia, NY)
