The crowd at Friday's league match between the Hanover Hawks (Mechanicsville, VA) and the visiting Mechanicsville Mustangs (Mechanicsville, VA), saw Hanover's softball squad nip Mechanicsville by a count of 8-1.

The Hawks now sport a 11-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Henrico for a Capital match on Monday, April 24. Hanover will face a Warriors squad coming off a 10-6 league loss to Varina (Richmond, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-9.

With the loss, Mechanicsville falls to 5-8 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA) to face the Springers in a Capital match on Monday, April 24. The Springers enter the match with a record of 1-8. Highland Springs lost 18-7 in their recent non-league match against Maggie Walker (Richmond, VA)
