Imperial Tigers (Imperial, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southwest EC Eagles (El Centro, CA), 8-7 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Palo Verde Valley for a Desert challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Imperial will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 20-3 league win over Calipatria (Calipatria, CA). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 5-12.

With the loss, Southwest EC falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Bayfront Charter (Chula Vista, CA) to battle the Sharks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. The Sharks enter the challenge with a record of 10-4. Bayfront Charter won 8-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Chula Vista (Chula Vista, CA)
