South Rebels (Willoughby, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Riverside Beavers (Painesville, OH), 7-6 in a league challenge.

The Rebels now own a 11-1 record. They take the field next when they host Perry for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 22. South will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to Jefferson Area (Jefferson, OH). The Pirates record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Riverside falls to 13-4 on the campaign. The Beavers travel to Chardon (Chardon, OH) to battle the Hilltoppers in a Western Reserve challenge on Monday, April 24. The Hilltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 13-4. Chardon won 5-4 in their recent league challenge against North (Eastlake, OH)
