The Rock Island Rocks baseball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Geneseo Maple Leafs to 5 in the Rocks league win on Monday.
The Rocks now own a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kewanee for a non-league test on Tuesday, April 22. Rock Island will play a Boilermakers team coming off a 11-6 league win over Mendota (Mendota, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 7-9.
With the defeat, Geneseo drops to 8-10 on the year. The Maple leafs host Rock Island (Rock Island, IL) to play the Rocks in a Western Big Six test on Wednesday, April 23. The Rocks go into the test with a record of 7-8. Rock Island won 24-9 in their recent non-league test against Kewanee (Kewanee, IL)
