In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Amherst County Lancers softball team scored a tight 6-2 win over the Buckingham Knights.
The Lancers (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA). The Cavaliers come into the Seminole match with a 8-0 record. In their last match, Jefferson Forest nipped Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA), 11-0, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Knights battle the Prince Edward County Eagles (Farmville, VA) in a James River match, on Tuesday, April 22. Buckingham will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record. The Eagles come into the match with a 0-2 record after their 31-1 league loss to Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA).
