In Monday's non-league match, the host Benton Panthers softball team scored a tight 5-3 win over the Sheridan Yellowjackets.

The Panthers (17-2) will now prepare for their match against Parkview (Little Rock, AR). The Patriots come into the 5A Central match with a 6-14 record. In their last match, Parkview nipped ESTEM (Little Rock, AR), 20-5, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the Genoa Central Dragons (Texarkana, AR) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, April 22. Sheridan will attempt to better on its 14-4 season record. The Dragons come into the match with a 17-7 record after their 7-5 league loss to Smackover (Smackover, AR).
