In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Sandy Creek Comets softball team scored a tight 6-3 win over the Port Byron Panthers.
The Comets (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Voorheesville (Voorheesville, NY). The Blackbirds come into the non-league match with a 1-7 record. In their last match, Voorheesville was routed by Ichabod Crane (Valatie, NY), 17-4, in a league match.
In their next game, the Panthers confront the Pulaski Blue Devils (Pulaski, NY) in a Section 3 Patriot National match, on Tuesday, April 22. Port Byron will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record. The Blue Devils come into the match with a 1-0 record after their 7-6 league win over Weedsport (Weedsport, NY).
