North Carolina High School Baseball - Watauga edges McDowell

April 21, 2026: Marion, NC 28752

The crowd at Tuesday's league battle between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), saw Watauga's baseball team gain a win over McDowell by a tally of 7-5.

The Pioneers (14-8) will now prepare for their battle against St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Indians enter the Northwestern 6A/7A battle with a 16-5 record. In their last battle, St. Stephens held off South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 8-5, in a league battle.

Next, the Titans face the Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC) in a Northwestern 6A/7A battle, on Friday, April 24. McDowell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-13 season record. The Patriots enter the battle with a 8-13 record after their 10-6 non-league win over Maiden (Maiden, NC).
