The Gloucester Fishermen the host Masconomet Regional Chieftains softball squad by a count of 4-2 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Fishermen (3-2) will now prepare for their battle against Beverly (Beverly, MA). The Panthers go into the Northeast battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Beverly nudged Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School (Hathorne, MA), 14-5, in a non-league battle.

The Chieftains now sport a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winthrop for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 27. Masconomet Regional will clash with a Vikings team coming off a 12-10 non-league loss to Wayland (Wayland, MA). The Vikings record now stands at 1-5.
