The crowd at Friday's league match between the Murphysboro Red Devils (Murphysboro, IL) and the visiting Harrisburg Bulldogs (Harrisburg, IL), saw Murphysboro's softball squad nip Harrisburg by a count of 8-1.

The Red Devils now sport a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Mt. Vernon for a non-league match on Saturday, April 23. Murphysboro will clash with a Rams team coming off a 4-3 league loss to Carbondale (Carbondale, IL). The Rams record now stands at 9-7.

The Bulldogs (16-6) will now prepare for their test against Herrin (Herrin, IL). The Tigers come into the Southern Illinois River-to-River - Ohio test with a 6-10 record. In their last test, Herrin edged Frankfort (West Frankfort, IL), 4-3, in a league test.
