Marion County Warriors (Jasper, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host South Pittsburg Pirates (South Pittsburg, TN), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Warriors now own a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they host Lookout Valley for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 25. Marion County will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 18-6 league win over Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy (Chattanooga, TN). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 11-11.

With the loss, South Pittsburg falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Bledsoe County (Pikeville, TN) to face the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 21-1. Bledsoe County won 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Van Buren County (Spencer, TN)
