Minnetonka Skippers (Minnetonka, MN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Wayzata Trojans (Plymouth, MN), 17-12 in a league challenge.

The Skippers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Edina for a Lake challenge on Monday, April 25. Minnetonka will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 15-7 non-league win over Apple Valley (Apple Valley, MN). The Hornets record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, Wayzata falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Trojans host Maple Grove (Maple Grove, MN) to battle the Crimson in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. The Crimson enter the challenge with a record of 5-0.
