With the win, East Wilkes upgrades its record to 13-6 on the season. The Cardinals host Starmount (Boonville, NC) to battle the Rams in a Northwest 1A test on Tuesday, April 23. The Rams come into the test with a record of 12-7. Starmount won 10-7 in their recent league test against Alleghany (Sparta, NC)

With the defeat, Avery County falls to 6-11 on the season. The Vikings host Owen (Black Mountain, NC) to battle the Warhorses in a Western Highlands 1A/2A test on Tuesday, April 23. The Warhorses come into the test with a record of 5-11. Owen won 8-4 in their recent non-league test against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC)
