The Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers held off the host University Phoenix volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Monday's league test.
The Panthers now have a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Payne Tech for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 24. Newark Collegiate Academy will confront a Lions team coming off a 2-1 league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NJ). The Lions record now stands at 6-7.
The Phoenix (0-4) will now prepare for their test against KIPP Newark Lab (Newark, NJ). The Sharks enter the SEC - Independence test with a 0-6 record. In their last test, KIPP Newark Lab was nudged by North Star Academy (Newark, NJ), 2-0, in a league test.
