Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Franklin County Eagles (Rocky Mount, VA) and the host Bassett Bengals (Bassett, VA), witnessed Franklin County's softball squad prevail over Bassett by a count of 16-1.

The Eagles now sport a 8-2 record. They play next when they travel to Lord Botetourt for a Blue Ridge match on Tuesday, April 23. Franklin County will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 13-0 league win over Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Bassett moves to 1-12 on the season. The Bengals travel to Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA) to face the Warriors in a Piedmont match on Friday, April 26. The Warriors go into the match with a record of 0-15. Magna Vista lost 19-1 in their recent non-league match against Staunton River (Moneta, VA)
