The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Eastland Cougars (Lanark, IL) and the visiting River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats (Hanover, IL), observed Eastland's softball team prevail over River Ridge/Scales Mound by a tally of 11-1.

The Cougars (10-4) will now prepare for their bout against Polo (Polo, IL). The Marcos go into the NUIC South outing with a 4-10 record. In their last outing, Polo was routed by Fulton (Fulton, IL), 21-4, in a non-league outing.

With the loss, River Ridge/Scales Mound moves to 0-12 on the season. The Wildcats travel to West Carroll (Savanna, IL) to encounter the Thunder in a NUIC West outing on Tuesday, April 23. The Thunder come into the outing with a record of 0-13. West Carroll lost 22-11 in their recent league outing against Warren/Stockton (Warren, IL)
