Spectators at Monday's league match between the St. Bede Bruins (Peru, IL) and the visiting Marquette Crusaders (Ottawa, IL), witnessed St. Bede's softball squad tip Marquette by a count of 4-2.

The Bruins now sport a 14-2 record. They play next when they host Henry-Senachwine for a Tri-County match on Tuesday, April 23. St. Bede will face a Mallards squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Stark County (Toulon, IL). The Mallards record now stands at 9-8.

With the loss, Marquette moves to 9-6 on the season. The Crusaders travel to Putnam County (Granville, IL) to face the Panthers in a Tri-County match on Tuesday, April 23. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 7-8. Putnam County lost 11-7 in their recent non-league match against Lexington (Lexington, IL)
