Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mt. Pleasant Vikings (Mt. Pleasant, PA), 6-1 in a league challenge.

The Scotties now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they host South Allegheny for a challenge on Friday, April 26. Southmoreland will battle a Gladiators squad coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA). The Gladiators record now stands at 6-8.

With the loss, Mt. Pleasant falls to 6-6 on the campaign. The Vikings host South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA) to battle the Gladiators in a challenge on Tuesday, April 23.
