Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Summit Hilltoppers (Summit, NJ), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Blue Devils now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they host Dayton for a UCC - Watchung challenge on Tuesday, April 23. Westfield will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Scotch Plains-Fanwood (Scotch Plains, NJ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 8-3.

With the loss, Summit falls to 5-5 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers host Brearley (Kenilworth, NJ) to battle the Bears in a UCC - Mountain challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Bears enter the challenge with a record of 5-6. Brearley lost 12-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ)
