The Locust Grove Pirates baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Vinita Hornets to 5 in the Pirates league win on Tuesday.

The Pirates now own a 16-11 record. They take the field next when they host Oologah for a Verdigris Valley test on Wednesday, April 23. Locust Grove will clash with a Mustangs team coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Inola (Inola, OK). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-6.

With the defeat, Vinita drops to 3-15 on the year. The Hornets travel to Wyandotte (Wyandotte, OK) to battle the Bears in a non-league match on Friday, April 25. The Bears come into the match with a record of 19-9.
