In Tuesday's non-league test, the James River Knights (Buchanan, VA) softball squad overwhelmed the host Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA), by a count of 8-2.

Next, the Knights meet the Craig County Rockets (New Castle, VA) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, April 23. James River will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Rockets go into the test with a 0-7 record after their 24-3 non-league loss to Eastern Montgomery (Elliston, VA).

The Cougars (0-8) will now prepare for their test against Floyd County (Floyd, VA). The Buffaloes go into the non-league test with a 7-1 record. In their last test, Floyd County held off Radford (Radford, VA), 21-3, in a non-league test.
