The crowd at Tuesday's league bout between the Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) and the host William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA), observed Staunton River's softball team get by William Byrd by a tally of 11-8.

The Golden Eagles (9-2) will now prepare for their bout against Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Minutemen go into the non-league bout with a 4-5 record. In their last bout, Liberty was routed by Rustburg (Rustburg, VA), 5-1, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Terriers clash with the Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA) in a Blue Ridge bout, on Wednesday, April 23. William Byrd will attempt to advance on its 3-8 season record. The Colonels go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 14-0 league loss to Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA).
