California High School Softball - Mater Dei nudges JSerra Catholic

Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host JSerra Catholic Lions (San Juan Capistrano, CA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Monarchs now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Orange Lutheran for a Trinity challenge on Wednesday, April 28. Mater Dei will face a Lancers squad coming off a 6-4 non-league win over Cypress (Cypress, CA). The Lancers record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, JSerra Catholic falls to 7-7 on the campaign. The Lions travel to La Mirada (La Mirada, CA) to face the Matadores in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 24. The Matadores enter the challenge with a record of 8-4. La Mirada won 10-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Cypress (Cypress, CA)
