Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lafayette Central Catholic Knights (Lafayette, IN), 20-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting 59ers now own a 9-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Munster for a Northwest Crossroads challenge on Monday, April 25. Andrean will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 6-5 league win over Highland (Highland, IN). The Mustangs record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Lafayette Central Catholic falls to 1-9 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Benton Central (Oxford, IN) to battle the Bison in a Hoosier challenge on Monday, April 25. The Bison enter the challenge with a record of 8-0. Benton Central won 7-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Seeger (West Lebanon, IN)
