The crowd at Saturday's league match between the Deer Park Stags (Deer Park, WA) and the visiting Newport Grizzlies (Newport, WA), saw Deer Park's softball squad nip Newport by a count of 9-6.
The Stags now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Colville for a 1A Northeast match on Monday, April 25. Deer Park will face a Crimson Hawks squad coming off a 17-6 league win over Newport (Newport, WA). The Crimson Hawks record now stands at 5-3.
With the loss, Newport falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Riverside (Chattaroy, WA) to face the Rams in a 1A Northeast match on Monday, April 25. The Rams enter the match with a record of 9-3. Riverside won 11-5 in their recent league match against Freeman (Rockford, WA)
