Highland Fighting Scots (Marengo, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Fredericktown Freddies (Fredericktown, OH), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Scots now own a 8-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Galion for a Mid Ohio Athletic challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Highland will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 13-3 league loss to Ontario (Mansfield, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Fredericktown falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Freddies host East Knox (Howard, OH) to battle the Bulldogs in a Knox Morrow Athletic challenge on Monday, April 25. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 5-7. East Knox won 11-4 in their recent non-league challenge against West Muskingum (Zanesville, OH)
