Grants Pirates (Grants, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Highland Hornets (Albuquerque, NM), 18-2 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 4-15 record. They take the field next when they host Valencia for a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Grants will battle a Jaguars squad coming off a 15-0 league win over Highland (Albuquerque, NM). The Jaguars record now stands at 6-15.

With the loss, Highland falls to 1-21 on the campaign. The Hornets host St. Pius X (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Sartans in a 4A District 5 challenge on Tuesday, April 26. The Sartans enter the challenge with a record of 16-4. St. Pius X won 13-4 in their recent league challenge against Belen (Belen, NM)
