Saraland Spartans (Saraland, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mountain Brook Spartans (Birmingham, AL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 14-14 record. They take the field next when they host Baldwin County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Saraland will face a Tigers squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Satsuma (Satsuma, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Mountain Brook falls to 12-14 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Curry (Jasper, AL) to face the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 23. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 31-10. Curry lost 8-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Moody (Moody, AL)
