Frankfort Redbirds (West Frankfort, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Benton Rangers (Benton, IL), 10-3 in a league challenge.

The Redbirds now sport a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carmi-White County for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 24. Frankfort will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Eldorado (Eldorado, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-4.

With the loss, Benton falls to 6-17 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to Anna-Jonesboro (Anna, IL) to face the Wildcats in a Southern Illinois River-to-River - Mississippi challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 19-4. Anna-Jonesboro won 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Crab Orchard (Marion, IL)
