Bunker Hill Bears (Claremont, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 5-1 in a league challenge.

The Bears now own a 15-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hibriten for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, April 24. Bunker Hill will face a Panthers squad coming off a 13-0 league loss to Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 4-13.

With the loss, Newton-Conover falls to 0-13 on the campaign. The Red devils host Maiden (Maiden, NC) to face the Blue Devils in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A challenge on Friday, April 26. The Blue Devils enter the challenge with a record of 11-3. Maiden lost 10-0 in their recent non-league challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC)
