Dayton Bulldogs (Springfield, NJ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ), 6-2 in a league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Johnson for a UCC - Watchung challenge on Thursday, April 25. Dayton will battle a Crusaders squad coming off a 13-4 league win over Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ). The Crusaders record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Westfield falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Blue devils travel to Cranford (Cranford, NJ) to battle the Cougars in a UCC - Watchung challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Cranford lost 12-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Watchung Hills Regional (Warren, NJ)
