The Newton North Tigers baseball team scored 11 runs and held the host Newton South Lions to 4 in the Tigers non-league win on Wednesday.
The Tigers now hold a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Catholic Memorial for a non-league test on Thursday, April 24. Newton North will play a Knights team coming off a 5-1 non-league loss to Franklin (Franklin, MA). The Knights record now stands at 3-7.
With the defeat, Newton South drops to 5-1 on the year. The Lions travel to Malden Catholic (Malden, MA) to play the Lancers in a non-league test on Friday, April 25. The Lancers go into the test with a record of 1-8. Malden Catholic lost 11-1 in their recent non-league test against Bishop Fenwick (Peabody, MA)
