In Wednesday's non-league challenge, the host Howell Rebels volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Liberty Lions.

The Rebels (5-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Marlboro (Marlboro, NJ). The Mustangs come into the Shore - A North challenge with a 7-3 record. In their last challenge, Marlboro edged Toms River North (Toms River, NJ), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions meet the Lacey Township Lions (Lanoka Harbor, NJ) in a Shore - B South challenge, on Thursday, April 24. Liberty will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Long Branch (Long Branch, NJ).
