North Carolina High School Softball - Southern Lee bested by Union Pines

The Union Pines Vikings triumphed over the visiting Southern Lee Cavaliers softball squad by a count of 15-0 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Vikings meet the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) in a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge, on Thursday, April 24. Union Pines will attempt to upgrade on its 14-8 season record. The Patriots enter the challenge with a 6-15 record after their 15-0 non-league win over Cary (Cary, NC).

The Cavaliers (2-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Lee County (Sanford, NC). The Yellow Jackets enter the Sandhills 3A/4A challenge with a 4-13 record. In their last challenge, Lee County was routed by Chatham Central (Bear Creek, NC), 12-9, in a non-league challenge.
