North Carolina High School Baseball - Mitchell loses to Madison

April 23, 2026: Bakersville, NC 28705

Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) followers left the game pleased Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), 8-0 in a league match.

With the triumph, Madison moves its record to 11-7 on the season. The Patriots host University School (Johnson City, TN) to battle the Buccaneers in a non-league match on Saturday, April 25. The Buccaneers come into the match with a record of 17-13. University School lost 2-0 in their recent non-league match against Greeneville (Greeneville, TN)

The Mountaineers now possess a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they host Avery County for a Western Highlands 2A/3A match on Monday, April 27. Mitchell will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 16-1 league loss to Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 7-11.
