Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Sunday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Bristol Panthers (Bristolville, OH), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they host St. John for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 26. Mathews will battle a Fighting Herald squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to Harvey (Painesville, OH). The Fighting Herald record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Bristol falls to 7-3 on the campaign. The Panthers host Maplewood (Cortland, OH) to battle the Rockets in a Northeastern Athletic challenge on Monday, April 25. The Rockets enter the challenge with a record of 2-3.
