Washingtonville Wizards (Washingtonville, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Beacon Bulldogs (Beacon, NY), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Wizards now own a 2-8 record. They take the field next when they host Pine Bush for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Washingtonville will battle a Bushmen squad coming off a 14-5 non-league win over Valley Central (Montgomery, NY). The Bushmen record now stands at 6-1.

With the loss, Beacon falls to 1-8 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Cornwall Central (New Windsor, NY) to battle the Dragons in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Dragons enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Cornwall Central won 18-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Chester (Chester, NY)
