Franklin-Simpson Wildcats (Franklin, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Todd County Central Rebels (Elkton, KY), 6-5 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 9-13 record. They take the field next when they travel to Logan County for a District 13 challenge on Tuesday, April 25. Franklin-Simpson will face a Cougars squad coming off a 6-4 non-league win over Muhlenberg County (Greenville, KY). The Cougars record now stands at 12-8.

With the loss, Todd County Central falls to 13-11 on the campaign. The Rebels host Russellville (Russellville, KY) to face the Panthers in a District 13 challenge on Tuesday, April 25. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 13-7. Russellville won 19-6 in their recent non-league challenge against University Heights (Hopkinsville, KY)
